"Opium" withdrawal

Chloe with her 'opium'

Pictures of the girls with their pacifiers in their mouths will be a thing of the past

Have been thinking of ways to wean Chloe and Chelsey off their pacifier or chootchoot addiction recently. Their dependency has been become more frequent. The chootchoot is supposed to soothe them and help them go to sleep only but now, they ask for it whenever, they are bored, sitting in the car, watching TV or when one sees the other one using it!

One day in church, someone told me to make a small incision on the tit so that they will eventually reject it as it is not the same or as 'good' as before. Two nights ago, I followed the this advice and make a small cut on their pacifiers.

Chelsey's first reaction was to take the chootchoot out of her mouth and examine it to make sure it was hers. After while, she spit it out as it was not the same.
For Chloe, she took it out immediately and said that it was broken. She also asked for plaster and glue to fix it. I lied to her that she has very strong teeth and tore it while she was sleeping. She believed me. (There is nothing wrong in telling a white lie! I plan to tell her the truth when she is much older.)

For the first couple of nights, Chloe couldn't sleep and only fell asleep at 1230am. Both girls had difficulty sleeping and kept waking up through the night. We persevered for almost 3 weeks and now, they are finally sleeping through the night again! Phew!

Chelsey is 1 !

Chelsey actually turned ONE on 6 Jan but we celebrated a little earlier on 4 Jan.
Chelsey's birthday party was held at SICC - Bowling Alley, the same place where we had Chloe's first birthday too.
Here are some pictures of the happy occasion. We are glad that most of our friends made it.
Thank you everyone for coming and for your generous gifts!
